Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX) and the visiting Groesbeck Goats (Groesbeck, TX), saw Mexia's basketball squad wallop Groesbeck by a count of 79-40.

With the victory, Mexia upgrades its record to 17-10 on the campaign. The Black Cats travel to Franklin (Franklin, TX) to play the Lions in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Friday, January 19. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 5-8. Franklin lost 85-83 in their recent league challenge against Westwood (Palestine, TX)

Next up, the Goats play the Elkhart Elks (Elkhart, TX) in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge, on Friday, January 19. Groesbeck will attempt to upgrade on its 1-17 season record. The Elks come into the challenge with a 8-15 record after their 52-39 league loss to Buffalo (Buffalo, TX).
