Corvian Community Cardinals (Charlotte, NC) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mountain Island Charter Raptor (Mt. Holly, NC), 31-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Corvian Community upgrades its record to 4-9 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Bradford Prep (Charlotte, NC) to play the Bears in a 1A/2A Catawba Shores bout on Friday, January 19. The Bears come into the bout with a record of 5-7. Bradford Prep lost 37-36 in their recent non-league bout against Mountain Island Charter (Mt. Holly, NC)

Next up, the Raptor play the Lincoln Charter Eagles (Denver, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 19. Mountain Island Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 10-4 record after their 51-28 league win over Christ the King (Huntersville, NC).
