The Boyd County Spartans basketball squad (Spencer, NE), was tipped 43-41 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Chambers/Wheeler Central Renegades (Chambers, NE)

The Renegades (6-8) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Mary's (O'Neill, NE). The Cardinals come into the D2 District 5 challenge with a 9-3 record. In their last challenge, St. Mary's was tipped by Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] (Clearwater, NE), 71-62, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Spartans encounter the West Holt Huskies (Atkinson, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 23. Boyd County will attempt to improve on its 7-5 season record.
