In Friday's league test, the Brazos Cougars (Wallis, TX) basketball squad defeated the visiting Hempstead Bobcats (Hempstead, TX), by a final score of 53-37.

Next, the Cougars clash with the East Bernard Brahmas (East Bernard, TX) in a 3A Region III District 24 test, on Tuesday, January 21. Brazos will attempt to upgrade on its 12-10 season record. The Brahmas come into the test with a 10-13 record after their 39-34 league win over Van Vleck (Van Vleck, TX).

The Bobcats (2-12) will now prepare for their test against Hitchcock (Hitchcock, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 3A Region III District 24 test with a 16-8 record. In their last test, Hitchcock overcame Boling (Boling, TX), 82-40, in a league test.
