South Dakota High School Basketball - McCook Central/Montrose holds off Sioux Valley
January 17, 2025: Volga, SD 57071 The McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars basketball team scored 52 points and limited the host Sioux Valley Cossacks to 47 in the Fighting Cougars non-league triumph on Friday.
The Fighting Cougars now have a 7-4 record. They play next when they travel to Colman-Egan for a non-league game on Tuesday, January 21. McCook Central/Montrose will confront a C-E Hawks team coming off a 48-46 non-league loss to Hills-Beaver Creek (Hills, MN). The C-E Hawks record now stands at 4-5.
With the loss, Sioux Valley falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Cossacks host Pine Ridge (Pine Ridge, SD) to confront the Thorpes in a non-league game on Saturday, January 18. The Thorpes go into the game with a record of 7-6. Pine Ridge won 69-52 in their recent non-league game against Hot Springs (Hot Springs, SD)
