New Mexico High School Basketball - Navajo Prep nudges Thoreau
January 17, 2025: Farmington, NM 87401 The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Navajo Prep Eagles (Farmington, NM) and the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), observed Navajo Prep's basketball team edge Thoreau by a score of 66-64.
The Eagles (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Zuni (Zuni, NM). The Thunderbirds come into the 3A District 1 challenge with a 9-5 record. In their last challenge, Zuni was tipped by Grants (Grants, NM), 80-55, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Hawks encounter the Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM) in a 3A District 1 challenge, on Saturday, January 18. Thoreau will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 13-2 record after their 60-44 league win over Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM).
