Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV) and the visiting Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV), saw Nicholas County's basketball squad knock off Midland Trail by a tally of 58-46.

With the victory, Nicholas County improves its record to 6-5 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to WestSide (Clear Fork, WV) to play the Renegades in a Coalfield AA challenge on Saturday, January 21. The Renegades come into the challenge with a record of 6-8. WestSide won 61-46 in their recent league challenge against Shady Spring (Shady Spring, WV)

Next up, the Patriots play the Mercer Christian Academy Cavaliers (Princeton, WV) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 19. Midland Trail will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 8-3 record after their 55-48 non-league win over James Monroe (Lindside, WV).
