Louisiana High School Basketball - Pope John Paul II thwarts Riverside Academy
January 18, 2024: Slidell, LA 70461 The Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA) basketball knocked off the visiting Riverside Academy Rebels (Reserve, LA), 61-51 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Jaguars (17-5) will now prepare for their test against Sumner (Kentwood, LA). The Cowboys go into the non-league test with a 8-16 record. In their last test, Sumner went down by Pine (Franklinton, LA), 67-45, in a league test.
The Rebels now own a 3-10 record. They play next when they travel to Helix Mentorship STEAM Academy for a non-league test on Friday, January 19. Riverside Academy will encounter a squad coming off a 60-28 non-league win over Slaughter Community Charter (Slaughter, LA). The record now stands at 1-3.
