Reedley Pirates (Reedley, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Selma Bears (Selma, CA), 48-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Reedley upgrades its record to 13-9 on the season. The Pirates travel to Exeter (Exeter, CA) to clash with the Monarchs in a Tri-County - Sequoia bout on Wednesday, January 24. The Monarchs go into the bout with a record of 15-7. Exeter lost 39-35 in their recent league bout against Washington Union (Fresno, CA)

Next up, the Bears clash with the Kingsburg Vikings (Kingsburg, CA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 24. Selma will attempt to upgrade on its 12-7 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 3-17 record after their 64-10 league loss to Sierra Pacific (Hanford, CA).
