East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Cox Mill Chargers (Concord, NC), 53-49 in a non-league match.

With the victory, East Mecklenburg upgrades its record to 10-7 on the year. The Eagles travel to Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC) to face the Ravens in a 4A Southwestern match on Friday, January 24. The Ravens enter the match with a record of 7-9.

The Chargers now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Iredell for a 4A Greater Metro match on Wednesday, January 22. Cox Mill will face a Vikings squad coming off a 76-36 league loss to Lake Norman (Mooresville, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 4-13.
