In Saturday's non-league test, the Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) basketball squad trounced the visiting South Charlotte Thunder (Matthews, NC), by a score of 59-10.

Next, the Lions encounter the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers (Charlotte, NC) in a NCISAA Charlotte Independent test, on Wednesday, January 22. Covenant Day will attempt to improve on its 13-7 season record. The Buccaneers come into the test with a 16-6 record after their 73-24 non-league win over Mountain View Prep (Spartanburg, SC).

The Thunder (4-14) will now prepare for their test against Lee Park Prep (Monroe, NC). The Knights come into the non-league test with a 12-2 record. In their last test, Lee Park Prep bounced Sheets Memorial Christian (Lexington, NC), 74-11, in a non-league test.
