The Holmes Aces basketball squad (Edenton, NC), was nudged 43-36 in Saturday's league battle with the host Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC)

With the victory, Currituck County advances its record to 3-7 on the year. The Knights host First Flight (Kill Devil Hills, NC) to meet the Nighthawks in a battle on Friday, January 24. The Nighthawks enter the battle with a record of 7-1. First Flight won 57-46 in their recent non-league battle against Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC)

The Aces now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Manteo for a battle on Tuesday, January 21. Holmes will meet a Redskins squad coming off a 53-52 league win over Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC). The Redskins record now stands at 8-1.
