Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC) and the host North Brunswick Scorpions (Leland, NC), saw Ashley's basketball squad wallop North Brunswick by a tally of 48-19.

With the victory, Ashley improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Screaming Eagle host Topsail (Hampstead, NC) to confront the Pirates in a 3A/4A Mideastern challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Pirates come into the challenge with a record of 10-6. Topsail won 48-40 in their recent league challenge against Laney (Wilmington, NC)

Next up, the Scorpions confront the Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. North Brunswick will attempt to improve on its 5-8 season record. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a 9-4 record after their 48-40 league loss to Topsail (Hampstead, NC).
