January 19, 2024: Gillespie, IL 62033 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) and the visiting Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL), saw Gillespie's basketball squad wallop Staunton by a count of 63-32.
With the victory, Gillespie upgrades its record to 19-6 on the campaign. The Miners host New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly (New Berlin, IL) to play the Vipers in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 22. The Vipers come into the challenge with a record of 12-11. New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly won 38-28 in their recent non-league challenge against Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia (Concord, IL)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers (Greenfield, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 20. Staunton will attempt to upgrade on its 17-3 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 3-12 record after their 56-26 league loss to Calhoun (Hardin, IL).
