The South Bend Washington Panthers basketball team scored 77 points and limited the host Merrillville Pirates to 54 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Panthers now possess a 8-1 record. They play next when they host South Bend Adams for a Northern Indiana game on Friday, January 10.

With the loss, Merrillville falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Chesterton (Chesterton, IN) to confront the Trojans in a Duneland game on Saturday, January 11. The Trojans go into the game with a record of 5-4.
