In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Catholic Crusaders basketball team scored a close 68-64 triumph over the Nansemond River Warriors.

The Crusaders (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against King's Fork (Suffolk, VA). The Bulldogs go into the non-league contest with a 4-0 record. In their last contest, King's Fork nipped Woodside (Newport News, VA), 52-42, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Warriors confront the Manor Mustangs (Portsmouth, VA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 4. Nansemond River will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record.
