LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Kerens Bobcats (Kerens, TX), 81-29 in a league bout.

With the win, LaPoynor upgrades its record to 20-7 on the season. The Flyers host Martins Mill (Ben Wheeler, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 2A Region III District 19 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Mustangs go into the bout with a record of 20-4. Martins Mill won 97-31 in their recent league bout against Cross Roads (Malakoff, TX)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Cayuga Wildcats (Cayuga, TX) in a 2A Region III District 19 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Kerens will attempt to upgrade on its 6-10 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 105-26 league loss to Frankston (Frankston, TX).
