Washington Prexies (Washington, PA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA), 54-48 in a league bout.

With the victory, Washington upgrades its record to 12-2 on the campaign. The Prexies host Charleroi (Charleroi, PA) to play the Cougars in a WPIAL 3A 4 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 8-9.
