Belen Eagles (Belen, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 45-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Belen upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Eagles host Grants (Grants, NM) to play the Pirates in a non-league bout on Friday, January 27. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 5-6. Grants won 69-42 in their recent non-league bout against Highland (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Hornets play the Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Highland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 9-1 record after their 51-45 league win over Hope Christian (Albuquerque, NM).
