January 20, 2023: Crandon, WI 54520 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Wabeno/Laona Rebels (Wabeno, WI) and the host Crandon Cardinals (Crandon, WI), saw Wabeno/Laona's basketball squad hold off Crandon by a count of 41-37.
With the victory, Wabeno/Laona upgrades its record to 12-3 on the campaign. The Rebels travel to Elcho (Elcho, WI) to play the Hornets in a Northern Lakes challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 2-9.
Next up, the Cardinals play the Three Lakes Bluejays (Three Lakes, WI) in a Northern Lakes challenge, on Friday, January 27. Crandon will attempt to upgrade on its 13-1 season record. The Bluejays come into the challenge with a 8-7 record after their 45-41 non-league loss to Lena (Lena, WI).
