North Carolina High School Basketball - Montgomery Central holds off Asheboro
January 20, 2023: Asheboro, NC 27203 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) and the host Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), saw Montgomery Central's basketball squad hold off Asheboro by a tally of 62-58.
With the victory, Montgomery Central improves its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Timberwolves host Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC) to confront the Grizzlies in a challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Grizzlies come into the challenge with a record of 11-3. Oak Grove lost 58-51 in their recent league challenge against Central Davidson (Lexington, NC)
Next up, the Blue Comets confront the Uwharrie Charter Eagles (Asheboro, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Asheboro will attempt to improve on its 10-7 season record.
