Illinois High School Basketball - Athens overwhelms Tri-City
January 20, 2024: Buffalo, IL 62515 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Athens Warriors (Athens, IL) and the host Tri-City Tornadoes (Buffalo, IL), saw Athens's basketball squad wallop Tri-City by a tally of 65-38.
With the victory, Athens improves its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central (Petersburg, IL) to confront the Bluejays in a Sangamo challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Bluejays come into the challenge with a record of 11-9. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central lost 48-46 in their recent league challenge against Illini Central (Mason City, IL)
Next up, the Tornadoes confront the Mt. Olive Wildcats (Mt. Olive, IL) in a MSM challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Tri-City will attempt to improve on its 0-19 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 3-17 record after their 69-34 non-league loss to Gillespie (Gillespie, IL).
