Riverton Hawks (Riverton, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Tri-City Tornadoes (Buffalo, IL), 54-34 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Riverton upgrades its record to 18-4 on the campaign. The Hawks host Olympia (Stanford, IL) to play the Spartans in a Sangamo bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 6-16. Olympia won 60-51 in their recent non-league bout against Eureka (Eureka, IL)

Next up, the Tornadoes play the Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers (Mt. Pulaski, IL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Tri-City will attempt to upgrade on its 2-20 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a 9-15 record after their 90-36 non-league loss to St. Teresa (Decatur, IL).
