North Carolina High School Basketball - Martin County nips North Edgecombe

January 20, 2024: Williamston, NC 27892

Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Martin County Knights (Williamston, NC) and the visiting North Edgecombe Warriors (Tarboro, NC), saw Martin County's basketball squad hold off North Edgecombe by a tally of 66-65.

With the victory, Martin County improves its record to 11-6 on the season. The Knights travel to Washington County (Plymouth, NC) to encounter the Panthers in a 1A Four Rivers test on Tuesday, January 23. The Panthers go into the test with a record of 12-0. Washington County won 45-42 in their recent league test against Bertie (Windsor, NC)

The Warriors now own a 10-3 record. They play next when they travel to Weldon for a 1A Tar Roanoke test on Tuesday, January 23. North Edgecombe will encounter a Chargers squad coming off a 69-61 league win over KIPP Pride (Gaston, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 5-6.
