Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Sandy Valley Cardinals (Magnolia, OH) and the host Garaway Pirates (Sugarcreek, OH), saw Sandy Valley's basketball squad overcome Garaway by a tally of 36-27.

With the victory, Sandy Valley improves its record to 7-7 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Dover (Dover, OH) to confront the Crimson Tornadoes in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 22. The Crimson Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. Dover won 49-33 in their recent non-league challenge against Weir (Weirton, WV)

Next up, the Pirates confront the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans (Zoarville, OH) in a Inter-Valley challenge, on Wednesday, January 24. Garaway will attempt to improve on its 6-8 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 12-2 record after their 64-42 league win over Ridgewood (West Lafayette, OH).
