Kentucky High School Basketball - Sayre thwarts Scott County
January 20, 2025: Georgetown, KY 40324 The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Sayre Spartans (Lexington, KY) and the host Scott County Cardinals (Georgetown, KY), observed Sayre's basketball team knock off Scott County by a score of 77-58.
The Spartans (10-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Henry Clay (Lexington, KY). The Blue Devils come into the District 42 challenge with a 10-4 record. In their last challenge, Henry Clay was knocked off by Frederick Douglass (Lexington, KY), 66-54, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Cardinals encounter the Bryan Station Defenders (Lexington, KY) in a District 42 challenge, on Friday, January 24. Scott County will attempt to improve on its 3-10 season record. The Defenders come into the challenge with a 16-3 record after their 75-66 non-league win over Madison Southern (Berea, KY).
