The Ripley Tigers (Ripley, MS) basketball nipped the visiting Houston Hilltoppers (Houston, MS), 54-52 in Friday's league test.

The Tigers (7-6) will now prepare for their test against South Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Cougars go into the 4A Region 2 test with a 16-6 record. In their last test, South Pontotoc was tipped by New Albany (New Albany, MS), 64-53, in a league test.

The Hilltoppers now own a 12-10 record. They play next when they travel to Pontotoc for a 4A Region 2 test on Tuesday, January 25. Houston will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 57-56 non-league loss to Saltillo (Saltillo, MS). The Warriors record now stands at 11-9.
