The Columbus Discoverers basketball team scored 52 points and held the host Grand Island Islanders to 28 in the Discoverers league triumph on Friday.

The Discoverers now sport a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hastings for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 22. Columbus will battle a Tigers team coming off a 54-49 non-league loss to Beatrice (Beatrice, NE). The Tigers record now stands at 6-7.

The Islanders (0-12) will now prepare for their contest against Hastings (Hastings, NE). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 6-8 record. In their last contest, Hastings was routed by Columbus (Columbus, NE), 48-23, in a non-league contest.
