The Gilbert Christian Knights basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Florence Gophers to 36 in the Knights league triumph on Saturday.

The Knights now sport a 14-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Benjamin Franklin for a 3A South Central contest on Tuesday, January 24. Gilbert Christian will meet a Chargers team coming off a 43-30 league win over Globe (Globe, AZ). The Chargers record now stands at 10-10.

The Gophers (11-6) will now prepare for their contest against Coolidge (Coolidge, AZ). The Bears enter the 3A South Central contest with a 9-9 record. In their last contest, Coolidge ran past Globe (Globe, AZ), 58-22, in a league contest.
