January 21, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87107 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM), saw West Mesa's basketball squad overcome Valley by a tally of 59-51.
With the victory, West Mesa improves its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Piedra Vista (Farmington, NM) to confront the Panthers in a 5A District 2 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 6-12. Piedra Vista lost 61-32 in their recent league challenge against La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Vikings confront the Hope Christian Huskies (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 6 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Valley will attempt to improve on its 11-8 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 14-6 record after their 50-31 league win over Albuquerque Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
