Virginia High School Basketball - Freeman holds off Atlee
January 22, 2024: Mechanicsville, VA 23116 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Freeman Mavericks (Richmond, VA) and the host Atlee Raiders (Mechanicsville, VA), saw Freeman's basketball squad hold off Atlee by a tally of 36-31.
With the victory, Freeman improves its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) to confront the Wildcats in a Colonial challenge on Friday, January 26. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 10-6. Deep Run won 35-27 in their recent league challenge against J.R. Tucker (Henrico, VA)
Next up, the Raiders confront the Patrick Henry Patriots (Ashland, VA) in a Capital challenge, on Friday, January 26. Atlee will attempt to improve on its 3-11 season record. The Patriots come into the challenge with a 2-14 record after their 56-43 league loss to Varina (Richmond, VA).
