North Carolina High School Basketball - Freedom knocked off by Watauga

January 22, 2025: Boone, NC 28607

In Wednesday's league test, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a score of 83-63.

Next, the Pioneers encounter the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) in a 3A/4A Northwestern test, on Friday, January 24. Watauga will attempt to improve on its 11-4 season record. The Huskies come into the test with a 9-8 record after their 62-41 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC).

The Patriots (10-7) will now prepare for their test against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars come into the 3A/4A Northwestern test with a 10-7 record. In their last test, Alexander Central was knocked off by Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 63-57, in a league test.
