Kentucky High School Basketball - Wayne County overwhelms Somerset Christian
January 23, 2024: Monticello, KY 42633 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) and the visiting Somerset Christian Cougars (Somerset, KY), saw Wayne County's basketball squad wallop Somerset Christian by a tally of 93-70.
With the victory, Wayne County improves its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Southwestern (Somerset, KY) to confront the Warriors in a District 48 battle on Friday, January 26. The Warriors come into the battle with a record of 9-10. Southwestern lost 76-65 in their recent non-league battle against Knox Central (Barbourville, KY)
The Cougars (5-11) will now prepare for their battle against Casey County (Liberty, KY). The Rebels come into the non-league battle with a 3-16 record. In their last battle, Casey County was overwhelmed by Adair County (Columbia, KY), 84-50, in a non-league battle.
