The Alleghany Trojans basketball team (Sparta, NC), was nudged 56-50 in Monday's league battle with the visiting Mount Airy Granite Bears (Mount Airy, NC)

The Granite Bears now possess a 8-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Stokes for a 1A Conference 36 battle on Tuesday, January 25. Mount Airy will confront a Sauras team coming off a 53-45 league win over North Stokes (Danbury, NC). The Sauras record now stands at 12-3.

The Trojans (5-7) will now prepare for their battle against North Wilkes (Hays, NC). The Vikings come into the non-league battle with a 2-8 record. In their last battle, North Wilkes was nudged by Forbush (East Bend, NC), 68-56, in a league battle.
