The East Wilkes Cardinals basketball team (Ronda, NC), was toppled 48-40 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC)

The Trojans now possess a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host South Stokes for a 1A Conference 36 battle on Wednesday, February 2. Alleghany will confront a Sauras team coming off a 61-58 non-league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Sauras record now stands at 15-4.
