In Tuesday's league match, the visiting Union Area Scotties basketball team scored a tight 57-54 triumph over the Carlynton Cougars.

In their next game, the Scotties meet the Cornell Raiders (Coraopolis, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 1 match, on Wednesday, January 25. Union Area will attempt to better on its 15-0 season record.

With the defeat, Carlynton moves to 11-5 on the year. The Cougars travel to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (Coraopolis, PA) to meet the Chargers in a non-league match on Saturday, January 28. The Chargers enter the match with a record of 12-3.
