The Marian Catholic Spartans basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Saint Viator Lions to 28 in the Spartans league triumph on Tuesday.

The Spartans now sport a 18-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Joliet Catholic for a East Suburban Catholic contest on Friday, January 27. Marian Catholic will meet a Hilltoppers team coming off a 65-60 league loss to St. Patrick (Chicago, IL). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 9-11.

The Lions (10-13) will now prepare for their contest against Marist (Chicago, IL). The RedHawks enter the East Suburban Catholic contest with a 19-5 record. In their last contest, Marist triumphed over Niles Notre Dame (Niles, IL), 35-19, in a league contest.
