The Orono Spartans basketball team scored 78 points and held the visiting Waconia Wildcats to 63 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Spartans now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jefferson for a non-league contest on Friday, January 27.

The Wildcats (3-10) will now prepare for their contest against Benilde-St. Margaret's (St. Louis Park, MN). The Red Knights enter the non-league contest with a 11-2 record. In their last contest, Benilde-St. Margaret's ran past Chanhassen (Chanhassen, MN), 69-68, in a non-league contest.
