New York High School Basketball - Pioneer holds off Franklinville
January 24, 2023: Yorkshire, NY 14173 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Pioneer Panthers (Yorkshire, NY) and the visiting Franklinville Panthers (Franklinville, NY), saw Pioneer's basketball squad hold off Franklinville by a tally of 38-36.
With the victory, Pioneer improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Lackawanna (Lackawanna, NY) to confront the Steelers in a Section 6 Erie County III challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Steelers come into the challenge with a record of 4-7. Lackawanna lost 56-30 in their recent league challenge against Maryvale (Cheektowaga, NY)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Ellicottville Eagles (Ellicottville, NY) in a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus - East II challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Franklinville will attempt to improve on its 7-6 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 8-4 record after their 69-15 league win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley (Cattaraugus, NY).
