The Loop Longhorns basketball team (Loop, TX), was overwhelmed 78-8 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Sands Mustangs (Ackerly, TX)

The Mustangs now possess a 22-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wellman-Union for a 1A Region I District 8 battle on Friday, January 27. Sands will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 66-25 league loss to Klondike (Lamesa, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-8.

The Longhorns (5-16) will now prepare for their battle against Dawson (Welch, TX). The Dragons come into the 1A Region I District 8 battle with a 3-6 record.
