North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central knocked off by Watauga

The Watauga Pioneers basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Alexander Central Cougars to 38 in the Pioneers league triumph on Wednesday.

The Pioneers now sport a 14-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ashe County for a 3A/4A Northwestern contest on Friday, January 26. Watauga will battle a Huskies team coming off a 67-58 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 11-6.

The Cougars (16-2) will now prepare for their contest against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots enter the 3A/4A Northwestern contest with a 10-7 record. In their last contest, Freedom was defeated by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 67-58, in a league contest.
