South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS), 57-26 in a non-league match.

With the victory, South Pontotoc advances its record to 17-3 on the year. The Cougars host New Albany (New Albany, MS) to face the Bulldogs in a 4A Region 2 match on Tuesday, January 28. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 6-8.

The Trojans now own a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ingomar for a 2A Region 2 match on Tuesday, January 28. Bruce will face a Falcons squad coming off a 63-19 league win over Water Valley (Water Valley, MS). The Falcons record now stands at 23-2.
