Utah High School Basketball - Piute holds off Bryce Valley
January 25, 2023: Tropic, UT 84776 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Piute Thunderbirds (Junction, UT) and the host Bryce Valley Mustangs (Tropic, UT), saw Piute's basketball squad hold off Bryce Valley by a tally of 24-21.
With the victory, Piute improves its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds host Valley (Orderville, UT) to confront the Buffalos in a 1A Region 20 challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Buffalos come into the challenge with a record of 11-2. Valley won 54-25 in their recent non-league challenge against Fredonia (Fredonia, AZ)
Next up, the Mustangs confront the Panguitch Bobcats (Panguitch, UT) in a 1A Region 20 challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Bryce Valley will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 42-38 non-league loss to Grand County (Moab, UT).
