The Piute Thunderbirds basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Valley Buffalos to 49 in the Thunderbirds league triumph on Thursday.

The Thunderbirds now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Panguitch for a 1A Region 20 contest on Wednesday, February 1. Piute will meet a Bobcats team coming off a 32-30 league win over Bryce Valley (Tropic, UT). The Bobcats record now stands at 7-8.

The Buffalos (11-3) will now prepare for their contest against Wayne (Bicknell, UT). The Badgers enter the 1A Region 20 contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Wayne ran past Water Canyon (Hildale, UT), 51-19, in a league contest.
