Virginia High School Basketball - Virginia Academy holds off Riverdale Baptist
January 25, 2023: Ashburn, VA 20147 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Virginia Academy Patriots (Ashburn, VA) and the visiting Riverdale Baptist Crusaders (Upper Marlboro, MD), saw Virginia Academy's basketball squad hold off Riverdale Baptist by a tally of 76-73.
With the victory, Virginia Academy improves its record to 15-5 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Chelsea Academy (Front Royal, VA) to confront the Knights in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 2. The Knights come into the challenge with a record of 8-2. Chelsea Academy won 66-42 in their recent league challenge against Immanuel Christian (Springfield, VA)
Next up, the Crusaders confront the National Christian Academy Eagles (Fort Washington, MD) in a Freelance challenge, on Friday, January 27. Riverdale Baptist will attempt to improve on its 13-8 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 5-12 record after their 68-38 non-league loss to Washington (Charles Town, WV).
