January 25, 2024: Monticello, AR 71655 The Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR) basketball nipped the visiting Harmony Grove Hornets (Camden, AR), 66-62 in Thursday's league test.
The Pirates (11-10) will now prepare for their test against Smackover (Smackover, AR). The Buckaroos go into the 3A Region 8 test with a 7-11 record. In their last test, Smackover was tipped by Dumas (Dumas, AR), 61-32, in a league test.
The Hornets now own a 8-7 record. They play next when they host McGehee for a 3A Region 8 outing on Monday, January 29. Harmony Grove will clash with a Owls squad coming off a 52-43 league win over DeWitt (DeWitt, AR). The Owls record now stands at 17-3.
