The New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) basketball knocked off the visiting Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS), 81-61 in Thursday's league test.

The Trojans (19-2) will now prepare for their test against Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS). The Wildcats go into the 5A Region 1 test with a 7-14 record. In their last test, Clarksdale notched a victory over Corinth (Corinth, MS), 57-36, in a league test.
