In Thursday's league match, the visiting Eastern Greene Thunderbirds basketball team scored a good 35-27 triumph over the Clay City Eels.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds meet the South Knox Spartans (Vincennes, IN) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, January 31. Eastern Greene will attempt to better on its 13-10 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 22-1 record after their 56-27 league win over Loogootee (Loogootee, IN).

With the defeat, Clay City moves to 9-14 on the year.
