The Union Pines Vikings basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets to 24 in the Vikings league triumph on Wednesday.

The Vikings now sport a 10-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Scotland for a 3A/4A Conference 24 contest on Friday, January 28. Union Pines will meet a Fighting Scots team coming off a 50-38 league win over Hoke County (Raeford, NC). The Fighting Scots record now stands at 12-3.

The Yellow Jackets (2-11) will now prepare for their contest against Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC). The Patriots enter the 3A/4A Conference 24 contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, Pinecrest was routed by Richmond (Rockingham, NC), 53-46, in a league contest.
