Texas High School Basketball - Abernathy thwarted by Slaton
January 26, 2024: Abernathy, TX 79311 The Slaton Tigers basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Abernathy Antelopes to 49 in the Tigers league triumph on Friday.
The Tigers now sport a 11-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Shallowater for a 3A Region I District 2 contest on Tuesday, January 30. Slaton will meet a Mustangs team coming off a 96-31 league win over Abernathy (Abernathy, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 23-2.
The Antelopes (9-15) will now prepare for their contest against Liberty (Lubbock, TX). The Patriots enter the 3A Region I District 2 contest with a 13-15 record. In their last contest, Liberty was outscored by Idalou (Idalou, TX), 64-38, in a league contest.
